Taotao Wang received the Ph.D. degree in information engineering from The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Hong Kong in 2015, supervised by Prof. Soung-Chang Liew (IEEE Fellow, IET Fellow); the M.S. degree in information and signal processing from the Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT), Beijing, China, in 2011; and the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Chengdu, China, in 2008. From 2015 to 2016, he was a postdoc research fellow at the Institute of Network Coding (INC) of CUHK. He joined the College of Information Engineering, Shenzhen University as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in 2016 and was promoted as a tenured Associate Professor in 2021. He is currently with the College of Electronics and Information Engineering, and the Guangdong Province Lab of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Economy, Shenzhen University, Guangdong, P. R. China.

Taotao Wang was the recipient of the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme award in 2011. He received the Star of Tomorrow award (excellent intern) at the Microsoft Research Asia in 2012. He received the Excellent Reviewer Award from the journal of IEEE Wireless Communications Letters in 2016. He was selected as Shenzhen Overseas High-level Talent (Peacock Project) in 2015. His team was on the finalist of Spectrum Collaboration Challenge (SC2) organized by the US Department of Defense Advanced Technology Research Agency (DARPA). He was the recipient of the Best Paper Award (Runner-up) and the Best Student Paper Award of IEEE CPSCOM 2021. He has been awarded the winner prize of the ScalingX Zero-Knowledge Hackathon and the silver prize of Hong Kong Web 3.0 Innovation Hackathon in 2023.
